Albums

The discography of American rock group Toto includes 13 studio albums, four live albums, and numerous compilations. In addition to releasing original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists and on soundtracks for films. The band has won multiple Grammy Awards for their work.

Before the formation of Toto, band members did sessions for other musicians. David Paich, the son of drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all played on Boz Scaggs’ 1975 album Silk Degrees. The collaboration led to the formation of Toto in 1976.

Toto's third album, Turn Back, marked an abrupt departure from the progressive sound of their earlier albums and was criticized for the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's lead singer Fergie Frederiksen resigned from the group, and the band held auditions for a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the 1986 album Fahrenheit.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The group went through old recordings and tapes to create the album.
