How to Repair Bifold Door Top Roller Guide

If your bifold door is squeaking it's likely they need some attention. They might require cleaning, lubricated or adjusted. The issue could be caused by loose screws on the top pivot or by the top guide roller.

Take the door off

It may seem complicated and difficult to set up a set of bifold internal doors however for DIYers with a little experience, it is actually quite simple. The frame isn't the problem however, getting the doors to close and fold smoothly is. Bifold doors are a complex piece of machinery and, as such, they might need some tuning up to keep working correctly. After removing the guide, test your replacement by placing it in its permanent position. Make a few turns using masking tape or guide tubing in order to ensure it stays in place. This will allow you to check the alignment of the guide and spacing to ensure that everything is in place.
